I absolutely love this band. searbarred, there's one shitty thread from a long time ago, whatever. Anyway.

This band is an experimental metal band with post-metal and progressive qualities. Saw them live a year ago with Kylesa and Mastodon.

They have a new album coming out this year, and they have said that it blows everything they've ever done out of the water. I am so god damned excited, because Prehistoricisms, their latest album is MINDBLOWINGLY excellent.

Prehistoricisms has yet to click with me, it does seem to get better with each listen though.

I ****ing love this band, both albums equally now

Void for having perfect basslines with shit bass tone, and Prehistoricisms for having wanky basslines, but perfect tone.

really ?

I think that a good amount of the basslines on Void are pretty dissonant and meh.

I've always enjoyed Null and Void more than Prehistoricisms.


Not to say that Prehistoricisms is BAD, I just don't like it as much as the earlier material. The bass was a tad TOO meandering, in some places, and a lot of the songs seemed to drag on, at times. It was a lot more experimental than the earlier work, it seemed. Again, those things aren't BAD, it just didn't seem as focused as the earlier work.


Again, I don't dislike the album, I really, really like it, but I always find myself listening to "Teledildonics", "Nostalgic Echo" and "Sores Will Seep" more.
