What are the opinions of the Tourmaster 4100? Seems like a great amp on paper, especially for the money. I've watched a few videos, but does anyone have any first hand experience with it?

It doesn't sound as great as it should. Its okay, but for the money you can get a much better amp...such as the Egnater Renegade!

Yeah, I'm just looking for something different. I've got mostly $500-$1000 gear but I've never went the extra step for something nicer. I've looked at the Renegade too but the 4 channel of the Tourmaster would be really nice to have. At the same time I like the tube mix control on the Renegade. Also the Power Grid on the Tourmaster would be pretty useful. I guess I'm just gonna have to suck it up and drive out to GC.

Yes, trying them out yourself is obviously the best way. But don't think that just because the Renegade is only $1k for the head, that its mediocre. That is an amazing amp.

The Renegade is better IMO. The Tourmaster tries to do too much and ends up sounding a bit mediocre in comparison to Bruce's other amps. Kind of a jack of all trades master of none situation. |

I just wanted some thoughts about it before I had a chance to play one. I like the price of the Renegade, idk, just something about the Tourmaster makes me want it. I do like the price of the Renegade much more though.
![]() It's sort of a trek to get to my GC, and once I get back to school it won't be until x-mas that I get another chance to go. If I end up liking one or the other I'd probably go with the Renegade anyway to be honest, just because I don't wanna spend all my cash. ![]()

Are you a car salesman by day?
You're making my decision easier that's for sure Although I won't know if I even like the amp till I play one; like I said, they just look really good on paper, it may not be to my tastes.

Also, I'm just gonna say that for $600, you can get the Tourmaster 4x12 which has 4 vintage 30s...which is an amazing price for a cab loaded with those speakers. For compairon's sake, a Mesa 4x12 with v30s is $950, a Marshall is $950, and an Orange one is $1050. So...$600 is an amazing price. Plus those cabinets are sturdy.

I considered the 4x12. Kinda pressed for space in vehicles when transporting as it is though. It may be something I look into in the future, but for now I'll go with the 2x12 if I end up getting the amp.
