Hey what do you guys think of the Tourmaster and the Renegade? and tell me there differences in tone and gain levels? Also i do know the Renegade has the tube mix and the Tourmaster does not

Hey everyone, I'm having trouble trying to figure out what's going on with my Tweaker. One of the tubes isn't working, but the amp seems to be operating perfectly. Details in the thread:

Egnater has stated that the Tweaker can be run with 6V6GT, 5881, 6L6GC, EL84, KT66, and KT77 tubes. It is a cathode biased amp, so there is no bias pot to adjust. This doesn't mean the bias will be "optimal" for all of the tubes, but they can all be run in the amp.


hey i took a couple days off UG.

glad you guys got it all figured out. i didn't know about the kt66s, egnater verified the kt77s for me. i still have not gotten them but once john finishes my wah he's sending me a pair of 77s.

Do you mean EL84s? I don't think the Tweaker would take EL34s!

Just put a new speaker, WGS Veteran 30, into a Kustom 1x12 cab and my REbel 20 head absolutely kills now. Super sweet cleans and great punchy vintage rock tones.

You got it backwards I think. 84s are the bigger ones.

AFAIK, 34s are bigger.

EL84s and 6v6s are Smaller. EL34s and 6L6s are bigger.

yea i still prefer them for what i use it for. they have the best growl for lack of a better word.

i've been messing with the old british 34s and the new EH russian 34s. putting one of each and stuff. on their own the EH tubes hold up to the old ones pretty well. for the money they sound great.

did you put 34s in? if so what kind?
