UROTM Aceofbass131's small rig

What could it be?! An amp? Maybe....or a weapon.

A Mesa/Boogie Bass 400+! I know, I know...I have had this baby for a year now, and you guys are just seeing it now, but I really wanted to do a UROTM to show off the pure sexy-ness. I have a Line 6 wireless unit as well, but the front cover between the top and bottom parts looks better. I run a clean signal to the front the amp, it passes through the 4 ECC83S' of the preamp section then to the Korg DTR 1000 then to the DBX 266xl. The DBX compresses all signal that passes through the gate, so it never peaks the power section. Speaking of power section....
Sexy Tubes!!!!
There are 3 quads of JJ 6l6 power tubes...600 watts total output, but only around 300-350 watts are used at volume 6...which is louder than my drummer. Believe it. I love this amp. It sounds like no other Amp I owned. I've had Peavey, Warwick, Markbass, Ampeg, Genz-benz and even tried other Mesa's...this is the most plain amp ever. Pure uncolored headroom for as loud as you can bear it. Yeah, it looks like it was in Vietnam, but who cares...bass is not beauty contest.
More Porn!!!

The bottom is a Genz-Benz Neo 2x12. It only weighs around 40-45lbs, being that the magnets are made out of neodynium. It handles 600w RMS and 1200W peak. Its midrange
commands the mix and the 3 1/2 inch horn really makes sure I'm heard. The lows are heard but not felt...but in a metal band, the bass drum is mixed over my lows. I want to upgrade soon...maybe to a Mesa cab. But I need a bigger trailer for that.

Bass
Most of you seen her before, but as this is a User Rig OTM, I can't help but give you bass porn.

Meet Evolet, a 1997 Warwick Thumb with the rare Wenge neck/fingerboard combo, and an ovangkol body. The pickups are active MEC Jpups with a 2-band MEC EQ with passive switching for when the 9v dies. The middle knob controls the blend between the two pickups...which is a surpising, vast difference. It sports 24 bell-brass frets for rounded highs and combine that with DR's...that's good tone. But alas, it's not done yet. 2 piece bridge to eliminate string-to-string vibrations. And to top it off, no finish. Wax only.
The grain of the bass has darkened in spots over the years, it has turned to a faux tiger-eye finish. The bass sounds like a dream and the older Warwicks like this don't have the beefy necks that the current 'wicks have.

And, as requested, there are rough sound samples on my profile, labeled UROTM...But the recording I love is the "Sleepers Never Dream." It really lets the bass breathe.
Note: I could not dial out the distortion. That's what I get for recording into my mic input on my pc. I will be getting (torrent) some actual recording software and
buying a small interface to do youtube covers and such soon. I will keep you all posted. Thanks, again. And, it's good to be back.

Or more importantly, how much do you piss off your bandmates because they have to help you carry your head?

Am I right in thinking that old Mesa could survive a nuclear holocaust? Old music equipment always feels more sturdy.

I carry everything myself...the rack unit is around 60-70lbs...but it's good exercise. Thank you all for the good comments. After touring with the same set up, I got bored of it a bit. But, then I put new JJ tubes in it from Eurotubes and it improved so much. So LOUD!!!
