Same concept of other thread, except over analyze and generalize cool musician's lives to describe their character or music in a depressing way.

Slash always wanted to be white.

Zeppelin wanted to be black in the begging, before settling on being white and doing more acoustic and progressive stuff.

Mustaine's entire style is based upon being faster and more technical than Metallica. Including having a higher voice than Hetfield. Meth also possibly played a part in this.

Lennon never wanted to sell out and was always rebellious as well as having a rough, motherless childhood where he became attached to his domineering aunt. He later found Yoko and started caring about the peace movement.

Rap related- 50 Cent went after Rick Ross for impersonating a ganster of the same name, ridiculing him. He himself stole his name from a notorious gangster.

Korn started out with all songs being pretty much about ****ed up childhoods. All of the members in the band have nicknames based on what they were made fun of for as a kid. Fieldy, Munky, Head, and Jonathan doesn't go by his but it was originally "HIV". Both Head ( with his Snoop Dogg inspired trademark hair ) and Fieldy wanted to be black at this point ( Fieldy was the worst but he moved on from this stage).

Hetfield was a drunk with a ****ed up childhood, as was Mustaine. He couldn't admit that he was an alcoholic too, so he kicked Mustaine out of the band. Mustaine did the same thing for years ( Poland, Garr, ) and took a liking to kicking guys out of the band in general, not becoming emotionally close to anyone but "Dave Jr".

That's all I can think of. Have fun with it, these don't have to be very accurate at all nor do I claim them to be.

Eminem had to become good to make people forget about Vanilla Ice. He is so good that he can make songs about hating his fans and about hating his mother hits. It's hyperbole to represent the style that Zeppelin ripped off from blues musicians albeit making it faster and adding distortion. Nothing against them, many artists were influenced by the blues. But listen to the difference in Plant's vocal quips and Page's playing over the years. Less bluesy progressively. That was my point.

Kurt loved fame. Suicide made him legendary. More legendary than any of his fellow musicians at the time will ever be.

Okay, now I feel bad for creating this over-analyzing stupid thread. Most of what I said probably isn't even true, but thinking this way is ruining music for me.

Elliot smith was ruled suicide. He was fighting with his girlfriend, she locked herself in another room, when she came out he was standing there with a knife in his chest, which she then pulled out. He stabbed himself twice. There was a note saying "Please god forgive me" or something to that effect.

IMO, she murdered him.
