Wow... sounds really realistic.

I still prefer real micing though,

Rose of Sharyn test I've been messing with for a while. Guitars are double tracked (1 per side, 50% panning) except for the octave guitar which is 0% panned.

Not entirely satisfied with the boosted VK. It sounds too loose and overgained.

EDIT: The link doesn't work yet, give it a few.

Nice, hey, could you send me a link with that ROS DI file, I can't seem to find it on the net.

What Amp Sim did you use with this, so I know where to put it.

Revalver (technically revalver HP, it's just only peavey amps).

And yeah, it's on my profile in the comments. I got it from MatrixClaw.
EDIT:

EDIT: Shit, I just realized this is free only. Ah well, maybe have a paid-for section in post #2?

Sweet, thanks man for the link, I'm sick and tired of hearing the ROS clips from everybody else, but I kinda wanted it so I could change out the tone tests for something that sounds much better.

So...did you use the free version or the paid version? I don't think it matters too much other than the free version makes a static noise like every 30 seconds.

It's the paid version but I used the free version for a while and it sounds identical. You just can't save new programs. You're stuck with the presets.

IMHO the first one sounds kinda muddy or just low quality or something. There's just something about it.

The 2nd one sounds just too distant almost. not sure how you could correct that as I don't use revalver.

Thanks man, glad you uploaded it to your profile, it'll be a more permanate link now.

I just did a 7170 clip using the ROS DI's you gave me, it wont upload to UG Better try in the morning. But I did in fact nail the tone almost perfectly.

the TSE X30. I've got a clip in my profile called "Breakdown solo 2". But it can sound way better as I wasn't using a proper audio interface.

edit:
the TSE X30 is an Engl e530 sim.

Is it really, I ought to add that to the front page, what the amp sims are actually sims of.

I wasn't too satisfied with the first one, tbh. I'm gonna swap the boosted VK for a JSX setting, I think.

I downloaded the ten day demo off the site and made this video with it:

Its the best metal amp sim I've used (I'm running a Mac system so I haven't used lepou/acmebargig vsts yet). On thomann it costs 144 euro which is cheaper than I remember, think it cost 200+ last year. Very expensive for such a small application when you get amp heads just as good for free. The cab system is incredible though since you can position the mics on a virtual screen. I don't think it sold very much and they have stopped updating it.
