Just wondering, were the settings displayed in the video the same as what you used for the song? |

Ok, so I like the way some of these things sound, but how exactly do I use them? I tried downloading the Lextac and stuff but what do I do with the DLL files?

you put it in your vst plugin folder and then open the VST in a DAW

Alright, did that. Now, I'm not hooking my guitar up through a direct line in, I'm using a Line 6 Guitar Port that I usually use with GearBox. When I drag the VST onto the audio track in Ableton, it sounds like poo. Very thin. What am I missing?

(May or may not belong here, thought it better than making an entire thread out of it.)
I originally made a straight video with text demo that was shorter than this on the basic use of the some free software out there for guitar sounds. It got some good comments and everything but the video was ass, just re-did with proper audio and voice narration after a few people asked me to. Looking back on it I skipped a few things in trying to make this as short as possible, I was trying to aim for a 7-8 minute video but that failed. But either way, It's the bare basics to get started, so this might be helpful to some who is newer into this stuff. EDIT Watch fullscreen 720p to see all the detail

Yeah, I've been giving it a wirl, seems a bit glichy still. The Kt-88's are way louder than the rest, and cause some issues when switching. I think I just need a proper interface to make it sound better, cause I still prefer the X-30 over the X-50, even thought the X-50 is friken cool and has alot of nice features.

This entire clip was done with Softube Vintage Amp Room. Could be a good demo.

TSE 808 boosted Nick Crow Wagner Sharp through GuitarHack's Fredman's technique impulses (no bass guitar):
