Dave! of course you know.. you're the one who explained it to me!!

Thanks dude.

How does that Parallel Axis sound.. in my new Jackson? Bro, that's kind of like asking "Jessica Alba is your prom date. What do you think of her dress?" hahaha awesome!

Okay I haven't played lots of pickups but here's some I know. In that guitar the Parallel Axis sounds big and full with lots of top end, lots of definition, lots of output. It doesn't clean up no matter how low you turn the volume, oh well. The SD website says it's tipped up on top but it has more bottom than their description would lead you to believe. I can tell it's a ceramic compared to a JB although it's similar. Warmer than the Gibson 500T in my Flying V but less pushed back? Way less mids than a Dimarzio Tone Zone. Sounds good thru my Marshall JMP-1. Sounds awesome thru my VHT UL. I'll have a better idea after I crank everything up at band practice.

I've played a few Strats with really weird necks but in general I'd say this is a little thinner, flatter fretboard radius and the back of the neck is less round.

Happy new guitar day. Sweet guitar. Only thing that could've possibly made it any more metal is if it were from the 80's

i actually prefer the neck angle for playability. with a straight neck guitar (strat, i'm lookin' at you ) my fret hand is further forward when i have the body of the guitar in my sweet spot.

with a neck angle, my fret hand is further back and it's just more playable.

that is one of the main differences of the prs mccarty. r.i.p. ted.
