There can be a big comp running alongside the quickies? I've always thought having both a "big" and a "quickie" together worked well. Quickie keeps the forum moving, the big is where the prestige is.

Yeah, there shouldn't be any problems running two competitions at once.
This would be a good time to open the Autumn Competition. I'll remind Allen about it.

Just remembered that we have to squeeze the Grand Champ Comp in sometime too. Since it would be nice to do the Autumn Comp while it's still Autumn I can set up the Grand Champ Comp right after it if you want... unless someone else wanted to run it.

Would running Grand Champ be worth it? I haven't looked specifically at the list of names... but I'd bet most of hte names aren't around any more, no?

the grand championship is not over until WE PIN BASSBEAT!!!
we could try something with photos. just like... the photo is a moment in the story of the poem. it can be before and the poem is a "what happens next" poem or it can be what happens after the poem is over- a sort of resolution or even a challenge to what has happened in the poem, or it could just be a moment that appears in the poem. like (to use an uncreative example) the picture is of somebody walking across a city crosswalk and that happens somewhere in the poem (although it doesnt have to be explicitly said/described as long as it's feasible in subtext/implied in someway). you just extract characters/moments/settings from the picture and use them how you choose. I dunno just an idea.

yeah like if i were to run it i would get a bunch of cool pictures and assign a picture to everyone that enters. they write their piece and the picture and the piece would be posted together and voted on for good use of picture and more importantly quality of submission. best piece wins by vote.
