Acid Bath.

Their pretty experimental, so I'm not 100% sure if this is the appropriate forum to put em' in, but I honestly think most of their songs have enough metal influence to put on here, so...yeah.
Acid Bath, ****in' rules. I just recently discovered their greatness and have been addicted to Dead Girl, Grave flower, Cheap Vodka, Cassie Eats ****(Roches.) and Bleed Me a River for about 4 hours now. XD This is some great shit...
You're Opinion?

So how did you find out about Acid Bath?
And have you heard anything by the other bands which have branched off of Acid Bath?
(ie Agents Of Oblivion, Goat***** etc.)

They're really not that experimental. They actually have a lot in common with the various other purveyors of the New Orleans metal sound. Pretty good group, they're still pretty popular around my area (i live about 45 minutes outside of New Orleans). If you like them, you might also do well to check out Exhorder, Down, Corrosion of Conformity, or Crowbar. Though, i'm sure you've heard them already (considering pretty much everyone and their grandma knows those groups). If you don't have it already, go out and get Acid Bath's CD "Pagan Terrorism Tactics," You won't be disappointed.

Yeah, I listen to Goat*****, but I didn't know any of the dudes from GH where in Acid Bath...I found out, cos I'm into the southern Sludge/Doom scene so my friend told me about them..so I downloaded some of their shit, and I feel in love with it instantly..XD I'm addicted..

Like I previously posted, I'm really into that whole scene. My favorite group outta' all those, though (Next to Acid Bath, of course.) Is Crowbar. Buried Once Again is the shit.

Paegan Terrorism Tactics: best album you've never heard of.

HUGE FAN of every aspect of Dax Riggs music. A lyrical genius, so effortlessly poetic. Paegan Terrorism Tactics is my favorite album of all time. If I could only listen to one album for the rest of my life, that would be the one.

I'd heard of Dax Riggs years ago, had friends that would invite me to his shows but I never got around to listening to his music. My husband played Paegan Terrorism Tactics for me a year ago and I absolutely loved it. ("Dead Girl" kind of became our song..)

I'm still finding myself in utter amazement at the fact that no one has heard of Acid Bath or this album. Pure lyrical genius there - pretty much the only songs I've ever heard with imagery that paints pictures in your mind of what it describes. Not quite sure how to describe it, but this album always transports me to some obscure, macabre world.

EDIT: The album artwork is my next tattoo. I figure I'lll be the only person who has it.
