Speaking of Wintersun, didn't they promise us Time II by October of this year? God damn mother fuckers.

BONUS POINTS if they are doing a US tour right now

No US tours right now, but try these:
Moonsorrow - Voimasta ja Kunniasta
Kalmah - They Will Return ~ The Black Waltz

Good modern Thrash and Death metal pls.

Not in the mood for anything too murky production wise.

In terms of "modern" thrash with decent production value I was always partial to Kreator. They have been around since 1985, are from Germany, and still produce good shit.

(2005)
(2012)

As for straight a head Death metal, here are 2 bands that don't get the love they deserve IMO

Unleashed - Odalheim (this is their newest album, and so far im not as impressed with it as I have been with their past releases. They put on one hell of a show. Check out Midvinterbolt if you like cheese and their older stuff is really worth a listen)

Krisun - The Great Execution (2011)

Always loved Bloodcraft off the Assassination album (2006)

Other than that check out the 1st page of the thread and look for newer stuff by those bands. Its a really solid list.

Then of course Dethalbum III is worth a listen if you like those two genres.

Let me know if this isn't what you were looking for and I will try something else

EDIT: Heres more cheese for you

Already listen to quite a bit of Kreator, but thanks for the rest.

As for modern Thrash, try Warbringer, Evile, Vektor, Violator, Municipal Waste (not pure Thrash, as there's a bit of Crossover Thrash influence), and Austrian Death Machine (also not pure Thrash [and technically parody, lol]).

The new Doomriders probably fits the Sleazy part.

Not sure I'd really call Doomriders metal though. They're more Hardcore.

I would entirely disagree.

Sludge through and through.

Once the novelty wears off, they get boring fairly quickly. I would avoid them.

Hey what were some of those bands mentioned on here before that are more modern but still retain that old school heavy metal sound?

To provide some context, there was Dark Forest, Portrait, and like two or three others I can't remember. Cheers if someone can help me out here.

Not sure if they were req'd, but Witches' Coven fit that description fairly well.
