The Metal Distro thread

Ok so the last one is gone to shite, and is more or less useless (sorry MH ) so this is the new Distro thread. A few guidelines:

1. This thread is to be kept relatively spam-free, it is not another Blumpkin.
2. Only reliable distros are to be recommended - if you have had a bad trade, just name and shame. A bad trade - you did not receive your package or trade, or payment. These claims must be backed up.
3. Waiting 3/4 weeks for a package DOES NOT mean a bad trader. People are busy with jobs, families, etc, waiting a week or two for whatever shit album you bought does not matter a toss, you should be patient with orders. However, if you are waiting more than a month or so, and no reply from the seller, just mention that fact.

The basic point of the thread is to provide help for people looking to buy relatively obscure albums, new or second hand. Also, to suggest distros on their continent to avoid postage costs.

e.g.

'Im looking for a Drudkh tshirt but dont want to pay for postage from America, any ideas?'

'Yes, Todestrieb distro in the UK has a few in stock'

Understand folks?

Il get things rolling, Il cover Ireland and the UK and a few Euro ones.

For everything considered 'mainstream' metal, i.e. big labels like Earache, Rise Above, MetalBlade, Century Media -

www.amazon.co.uk
www.cdwow.com

For black/death metal, well-known and underground -

www.invictusproductions.net - Ireland
http://distro.todestrieb.co.uk/ - England
www.sentinelrecords.com - Ireland

For heavy metal, NWOBHM reissues -

www.high-roller-records.de - Germany
http://www.eatmetalrecords.com/shop/index.php - Greece

Il add more when people need specifics. Happy hunting.

For Germany:

http://pervertedtaste.de/ - mostly for the more well-known black metal, but also a fair bit of death and some thrash bands.
http://metalboerse.de/ - mainstream-ish stuff of all varieties, good assortment of heavy and thrash.

That's all. There have been zero problems the multiple times I've ordered off them, and the one time I sent something back to Metalbörse (I KNEW that ordering a Metallica shirt can only entail bad things), everything went smoothly.

Fraid not mate. As long as we have the big ones covered (will do the American ones soon), people can just ask away as they please. I think establishing that the bigger label cds are easily available is the only thing that needs doing.

It'll just work like the rec thread, with individual queries and responses if needs be.

Hells Headbangers and Osmose should be noted.

Most big labels run their own distros as well. Relapse in particular has a good one.

The Rise Above distro: http://riseaboverecords.com/home/
They're based in the UK.

Hell's Headbangers: http://www.shop-hellsheadbangers.com/default.asp
US based, mostly black/death with some doom and crust as well. One of the more well-known "underground" distros.

Xtreem Music: http://www.xtreemmusic.com/
Based out of Spain, focus on death metal. Run by Dave Rotten of Avulsed.

If anyone wants to note websites, just include them as ye see fit - dont rely on just my first post....people can scroll through the thread if they want to spot something specific.

The first that spring to mind are

Supernal Music
http://www.supernalmusic.com/acatalog/catalogbody.html

Todestrieb Records
http://distro.todestrieb.co.uk/

Ive used both quite a bit, and both are reasonably priced, fast and in my experience reliable.

Osmose Productions - http://www.osmoseproductions.com/

Excellent site, large inventory of stock ranging from death - black - thrash - doom - grind, very fast shipping, however, the prices may be a bit pricey for those in the americas.

Drakkar Productions - http://www.drakkar666.com/index.php

Basing this solely on customer testimonials, and how they're directly linked to Osmose records.

Fast shipping, although a little pricey, variety of ranges of metal, and excellent site for tapes and for anything related to Mortifera (Run by Noktu from Mortifera)

The Old Outpost - http://www.theoldoutpost.com/catalog/

Very black metal oriented, excellent prices for cds.

Is The Omega Order too obvious? Based in America...these guys have a massive selection of everything mainstream and obscure (metal and non-metal, post-rock, neo-folk etc...), though they run out of stock often. Reliable and easy, and it's never taken more than 3 days for a package to arrive at my house. Most orders ship same day. Shipping used to be free, but they just recently added standard fares.

Edit: Also, cheap as fvck.

www.Hammerbolt.pl is an amazing site for any rare Eastern Euro black/viking/pagan/folk/NSBM merchandise. They are located in Poland, so shipping times and prices are longer than average, but they aren't bad, and they are very reliable. Highly recommended for any fans of the Eastern European scene for the aforementioned genres.

These guys are definitely good. Ordered an At the Gates shirt and Zuul - Out of Time, and it came the next day.

A belter of a distro based in Scotland that gets a lot of good stuff in, as well as putting out their own shit. Everything from Hatred Surge to Pagan Altar. The guy that runs it is a sound client too.

http://www.svartrecords.com/shoppe/

Fucking amazing for Doom.
