Synthetic Damage (Short proggy song) [C4C]
Well, I haven't been completely absent from songwriting since last year. I have participated in a few collabs, but haven't really written anything for myself. I've just been busy and really have rarely been able to get past 15 seconds of a concept riff. I've recently taken a more progressive approach to my writing, and this is an example of it. It is somewhat influenced by Animals as Leaders, but also has been influenced by the atmosphere of Metro 2033, a game I have enjoyed very much recently
 . This song is only 0:53 long, but I still felt like posting it just to get some opinions. I have a pretty good idea of where I want to go afterward. Enjoy. C4C if you post a link. By the way, watch out for GP screw-ups, if something sounds really off, it probably is a glitch.

That was awesome, absolutely loved it. Reminded me in ways of All New Materials.
The time sig changes flowed perfectly, which is always something you have to get right. Really enjoyed the clean guitar runs towards the end, the were a nice touch. Over all I'm really impressed, look forward to hearing more of it. |

Overhere, I cannot get any guitar tabs out of this to play. I am still gonna look at "Colossus", and I don't understand the word "thread". I feel definitely threatened, maybe that has to do with it. I don't produce anything, just have to spend my time with playing music. It's better for my fingers and eyes. You could look upon me as if I am a person that just came out of the hospital. The weather is: rainy. I thank you nevertheless for answering me. Sometimes overhere I fail to be able to "view" an interactive part of a message. Sometimes it works nevertheless from my unwanted list in "hotmail". Whenever I have been signed in, I don't succeed in transferring a guitar tab to my hotmail by sending it. Otherwise it is possible. Also other sheet-music appeals. I mentionned my e-mail-address, didn't I?

the flow was all cool, with all the time sigs and stuff.
and the drums also fitted. i know it's sometimes hard to write drums to different time sigs. even if the rhythm since bar 22 stayed almost the same, the was enough variety to keep it interesting. but in midi it sounds totally overloaded with tons of different layers. d: maybe record it, i can help you, if you need help. well, there's something that you could do better.. extend it! haha. overall it was cool, really liked it. hm.. on C4C, look on my profile for that "progressive doom" song. there should be also a "progressive doom" thread somewhere on the first page. cheers!

This song is really cool and has some awesome riffs in it, but I feel like it would sound better if you just stuck to one key signature. It sounds all over the place, to be honest.

Caught my attention right from the start, so that's good. Barely noticed time sig changes, so they seem smooth to me. Was stoked at 22 when the rhythmic part came in. But then at 29 I wtf'ed in a bad way at that chord and the runs after. I copied those runs back to the wtf? section, and it sounded much better that way. Overall, you've got good solid ideas here, I just really don't like those runs where they are.

Very nice intro, great melodies, and I like how the time sigs make it off beat "Just" enough. I really like how the sound changes when the distorted guitar comes in, especially at 30. I like how the guitar at 38 is almost a throwback to the intro theme. I love the end note at 46. :p
I would conclude it on a more open ended chord, rather than what you have now. Just saying...  Awesome piece, reminds me slightly of some music I heard on a Megaman game... Crit Amorphous in my sig? |
