you're gonna wanna increase you're budget if you want anything thats anywhere near decent. $100 for an amp is way to cheap. can you go up to about 300?

If you spend $100, you can get a Peavey Vypyr 15.

Fender Mustang I all the way... They don't have as many effects as amps like the Vypyr or the Spider IV, but you get way more bang for your buck tone and feature wise. These come with a lite version of Abelton Live, so you can use the amp as an interface to record. They also come with a Fender version of Amplitube, so you can make your own presets and load them into the amp, as well use artists and other user's presets. And most importantly, they sound the best in the $100 market right now.

Hit up the local guitar shop for a leftover Vox VT series amp, the new VT+ series came out a few months ago. The new VT20+ is $169, Musician's Friend has marked down the VT30 to $169. There was a 15watt model (VT15).

Put the $100 away and wait till you have about $250 and pick up a Peavey Valveking or a Carvin XV112.

I played a mustangII today and I thought it wasn't that great but it's probably better than a spider

how much does a fender mustang amp cost? and are fender amps good? oh yeah i dont want an amp that connects to my computer and all that other high tech gadget thingy.

I just want an amp that is good sounding, lots of effects like distortion, delay, chorus etc and 20w-30w for under $100

There's no such thing, your budget is simply way too low.

Peavey Vypyr 15 is not worth it. I own one and it's OK for practice, but if throw like $50 on your budget and get an used Vypyr 30 you will be happier with it.

The Vypyr 15 is a huge step down from the 30.

Just don't get rid of the amp you have now for an amp that is barely better.

I've seen retail for the Mustang $100. I too was looking at this one and the Line 6 Spider. My Best Buy has these two available to try out. What's the best way to test an amp. Any specific setting I should put? Please help this newb
