Hey pit. Looked around the searchbar for a while to find nothing in the way of a thread for guns or other assorted weapons, so I figured I'd get one running!

The Pit probably isn't the biggest demographic for firearms, but there are a few of us hunters and military folk around here. Otherwise this could be a handy resource to learn about why your favorite weapon in Call of Duty sucks or doesn't.

Q: What is to be Discussed?

A: All weapons in general. If you're into forged weapons, firearms, archery... anything. It's just an open discussion.


Q: What can I post? Or not post for that matter?

A: Just follow the forum rules. You shouldn't be showing any pictures of the aftermath of a weapon used on a human body. Gore is pretty much ban-worthy according to the forum rules, so steer clear.


Q: What should I post to get started?

A: Just post something about your favorite weapon, why you think it's cool, and you're general knowledge of the weapon base. It's a friendly environment.


Q: What if I don't know anything about weapons?

A: It's totally fine! You can learn here if you ask questions. Just don't apply characteristics from a video game to real life, though.

I don't really own any weapons, as a 16 year old in the UK i'm not allowed to/ I don't need to. I have had airsoft guns over the years but nother ever going over £60 so nothing amazing :L

I have used shotguns/ a rifle during my holidays in America at ranges, but I couldn't give specifics because I don't actually have any idea what they were. They 'fun' to use though, don't think I would ever want to own one though.

I just got started into firearms, my dad all the sudden got a one after going shooting with my grandpa (his father-in-law, ex-chicago detective) and then took me with one time. I was only able to shoot his little 22 rifle, I forget what it was, something not very fancy. I just turned 21 so next time we go I can try out my dad's Beretta 9mm. I can't wait!

What's so good about guns? The only thing you can legally do with them is shoot at animals and shoot at drinks cans... and neither of them seem very fun...

You can shoot targets for sport, and try to improve, or compete with friends. Which is a lot like... every other sport. Whats the point in playing basketball? The only practical thing you're gonna do with a BB is throw it at a metal circle. Guess we should all stop playing that too.

Last week I bought a Kel-Tec PF9 9mm semi-auto pistol. It's for home defense but later I'll go to CCW classes to get a permit. So far I shot 3 clips of 115g FMJ at the range to test the gun. It worked fine so I think I can depend on it.

Just hoping I'd never have to use it.

I don't own anything more than two .22 air rifles, and being a UK citizen, I'm not likely to own anything more. There's 2 double barrell shotguns and a Baikal 12G sat in the cabinet for shooting foxes and rabbits etc.
Been to a few firing ranges, and tested out various weapons in the TA. It's good fun all in all. Next investment, I'd like a sporting crossbow.

I've shot a friends AR-15 and R700, both really fun to shoot. His red-dot on the AR-15 wasn't working so I had to use the iron sights, but it was still fun. I'd like to go again and try out his handguns. I'm a pretty competitive person so I think I could really get into this if I ever find the funding for it
