UG Feminist Movement - Get Involved!
Hey guys... I know the world has a lot of misconceptions about feminism and there are plenty of people and actions that fuel this, whether it's extremists on one side of the spectrum or people who are ignorant to the situation on the other side of the spectrum.
A feminist is simply someone who believe in equal rights and opportunities regardless of gender. Gender is a ROLE, not a SEX - feminism includes males, females, transgender people, etc. Unfortunately the name as taken on to mean a lot of things... it often holds a connotation of a crazy butch lady wanting to cut your balls off. This isn't true and I want you guys to help me and help each other try and change this, starting with UG. Most of you are probably feminists and you just never thought of using the term or are scared to wear that label. At this point in time in our modern society, most people think that women and men should have fairness in rights/opportunities. The preferred methods for attaining such may differ, and that's totally fine - feminism does not mean affirmative action, feminism does not mean anything other than the intention. What you do with it is up to you. So, let's try to change the view of a feminist! If you simply agree that all genders should have fair treatment, go ahead and say it - I am a Feminist. Sorry if it sounds cheesy, sorry if it sounds weird... This is what we're trying to change. UG is a melting pot of cultures but it is dominated by young adult males and this is the perfect place to get this going - if you can call yourself a feminist and not be ashamed, think of the doors you are opening for people everywhere. Ultimately what I would like to do is get anyone who wants to be involved change their user title to "Feminist" for a little while. So sick about hearing about gender equality. Here in sweden you can't even name a street without looking to the other streets if it's excatly even feminime and masculine named (it makes the papers if there's any sort of suspected gender inequality).
Women should just stay where they belong, out of politics and sight.

I think people should be treated the way they deserve to be treated, regardless of race, sex and age.
That being said, I really love annoying feminists. They're so easily ticked off, it's hilarious. |

I'm a femin... Nope can't do it.
The sandwiches wont make themselves. Shame that even though women spend all the time in the kitchen that all the top chefs are men.
