BOTM: April. Washburn Graphic Bass

I had originally planned on doing this on a bass I was working on, but so many things have gone wrong with it, it will not be done for another while. Due to this, I decided to do my main bass (Which I think will be more interesting anyways), a Washburn Bantam BB4 Graphic Bass.

(Lovely weather, no? )

(Don't mind the thumb picks/tuners, I was still playing it at the time)

Well, here's the story of how this beautiful little bass came into my possession. After a few months of looking at basses in local stores, and finding nothing that really interested me (I was most interested in the looks back then). So, one weekend my family went to St.Johns. And there, in one of the smallest music stores in the city, I found this little gem. The second I walked into the store, I walked over to it, and 10 minutes later, I was (attempting) to play it in the hotel room. Lucky for me, the store was closing the next day, and everything was 50% off. I ended up paying $150 for the bass and a little 10 watt Peavey amp.

After spending a small bit of time on Google, this is what I found for specs:
-Snakeskin Graphic Body
-Maple Neck with Rosewood Finger Board
-Grover Tuners
-24 Frets
-34" Scale
-Eden Active Soap Bar Pickups

The bass doesn't seem very heavy at all. (It weights about 8-9 pounds)

(Close up on the graphic. Don't mind the little orange thing. That's just an earplug that I put there for some reason...)

Sound: I can't really describe the sound myself, and I do not have any sound clips on my computer right now. I'll edit this post in a few days when I can get a chance to record something.

Overall:
Personally, I love this bass. It plays like a dream, it's great for live shows, and it makes a great conversation piece. From what I have found out from various sources, this bass was a limited run, so I think that just adds to the awesome-ness factor.

Feel free to ask any question, and I will answer them to the best of my ability.

Wow, that certainly is an interesting design. Looks really nice though, looking forward to the clips.

Nice bass--that design stays firmly in cool arena without going uber overboard. I'm looking forward to the sound clips.

And yes, you guys are doing a fabulous job of modding btw.

Thanks everybody.
I actually had to look up riblets and thorax. Is that bad?

On a slightly related topic, does anybody know of a way I could record for less then $15? My friend does have a studio (Which I will use for some recordings, no matter what), but due to school and our work schedules, I won't be able to use it for awhile.

Is this bass of the month or of the year? I mean it's nice and all but has anyone got anything else to show off?

Ill do one. I never got clips of the fender 24, but that's okay because it's gone on Sunday. Ill pm someone whenever I get my next bass and do a BOTM or UROTM.

...unless you guys want last minute sound clips of the 24?
