Matt Cameron (Soundgarden/Pearl Jam/etc...) has got to be number one. Followed by:
2. Danny Carey (Tool)
3. Dale Crover (Melvins)
4.Travis Orbin (various bands)
5. Aloke Dutta (Tabla Player)
6. Trichy Sankaran (Mrindangam player)
7. Moondog (Percussionist/Composer, Inventor if the Trimba)

and the drummer from the velvet underground deserves an honorable mention, while lacking in technical prowess her strengths lay in simplicity, space, and an elastic sense of tempo, i dig it

I can't get enough of Ringo! I love when people have the nerve to say he couldn't drum. I have no idea where this decade old joke came from, but that guy can DRUM... He's so tasteful and his fills boggle my mind. Never too flashy, The Beatles had to beg him to do a solo on Abbey Road! Yes, a lot of his drumming could be done with one arm. Always subtle, but when he wants to...can sound like an octopus drumming. I will always look up to him. Anyone still living under the misconception that Ringo "couldn't drum" simply haven't been listening to his playing.

Josh Eppard of Coheed and Cambria. His groove is simply impeccable. He's the modern rock equivalent to John Bonham, in my opinion. I also obviously love John Bonham. Aynsley Dunsbar from Frank Zappa and The Mothers is also a favorite of mine. Can't forget Chester Thompson from Weather Report(and the mothers, and genesis).
