The Official Drum Forum Chat Thread.
As in any forum, please read The Rules before posting.

Welcome, all. I see that we finally got a Drum Forum. Stoked! Looks like I'll be calling this place home.

Anyway, we should try and set this place up, try and get a community like the other forums have.

We need some sort of rules, but I'm in no position to make them. Instead, I took these from the GB&C Chat Thread.. Hopefully a Moderator can edit them / change them to what they want.






Chatting is fine, but spamming is not. Discussions are good, posting to increase your post count is bad.

This is to be fun and to help promote a sense of community, so lets do that.

Normal Rules apply, no porn and all that jazz.

This thread is only for people who contribute to the Drum Forum. if you don't contribute to the Drum Forum, don't post in this thread.

it works. I think once we get a designated forum mod they can sticky a drum forum set of rules


Anyway, I don't know if it's your doing or not, but the first day you're back this place is a lot more lively

And lol, I'll take that as a compliment! Anyway, we seem to have this place coming together nicely, with the FAQ in progress, the threads etc. Now we just need regulars

I'm a drummer, and I've been coming here for a while. I'd have to guess I'm not alone


We've had a few pushes for a forum in the past few years. There's drummers here, we just have to wait until they come out of the woodwork

Flea, what do you think of the threads that me and The Rev have made? We're just trying to get this place going whilst theres no mods.

I'd say you guys have made an excellent start You've got the essential threads up and running pretty quickly, and all that's needed now is a little more traffic.

I would help out more if I could, but the only area of drums I'm somewhat profficient in is timing

The FAQ is looking good, I'd add a section on different pedals and stick/foot techique (I'm not quite sure what's meant by the playing/creating fills bit).

Yay. I just didn't want to look like me and Dylan were dictating the place. We've wanted a Drum forum for so long, so we're gonna do as much as possible to get it up and running.

+ No worries, pretty sure we'll get everything covered lol. The FAQ is in progress, a couple of 'Only' threads etc

I'd be up for writing a tutorial on starting drums if you all want. Been playing drums for about 8 years and I marched tenors on a DCA line last year, took lessons from a very technical instructor for about 4 years, interested?
