keyboard for a one armed man
i am looking for a keyboard with the keys arranged in such a way that i can use it with my one hand, while keeping up my productivity and holding a WPM count over 155. i thought someone might have suggestions so thank you for your time. FYI, with a standard keyboard it took me 5 minutes to write this post which is why i need a better alternative

Dunno of keyboards specifically for one armed people, but there are keyboards where the keys are laid out differently and they're apparently supposed to be easier to type faster on, so I'd look into that. Voice recognition technology as well.

Just practice harder; you probably won't get over 155 WPM but why do you need to with one hand?

That's a valid question. He said he could type 155 wpm. Does this mean TS recently lost his hand? I feel bad for asking if he did, but if not it'd be nice to know why.

If TS would feel hurt by such questions then he probably wouldn't and/or shouldn't have made this thread in the first place.

My suggestion would be to just practice. Whatever keyboard you find that would work well with only one hand might be really expensive, and you'd have to learn where all the keys are again anyway. Maybe look into alternate keyboard layouts like Dvorak.
![]() EDIT: I found this. Someone's already designed a keyboard layout for one hand, whether it's your left or right. You'll just have to switch around the keycaps on whatever keyboard you currently have. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dvorak...handed_versions

Dvorak one handed layout should do the trick stated above so you can keep your regular keyboard.

The only thing I know of is a chorded keyboard, but they're quite likely expensive. Basically it's a box you hold in your palm that has a set of four keys which produce specific letters when pressed in specific patterns. I think there's a brand called a FrogPad.
Edit: turns out they don't always have to be handheld. Edit2: V and that. 150 is very fast even for someone with both hands. It's only 50 or so lower than the world record.

I can type decently fast, but even at my fastest I'm not above 70 WPM. And you want to DOUBLE that with just ONE hand?
Breh what are you trying to get in the Guinness book of world records? |
