so i'll skip all the mumbo jumbo, but only because it allowed me to include mumbo jumbo twice in this sentence.
   first off, the new amp models are miles ahead of my podxtlive. they sound more natural and they respond more realistically than the xtlive. the effects are top notch, and i've made this thing make some strange noises so far. but i haven't even really scratched the surface. i also really like the layout of the pedal. you drop in an amp. then you have slots in front of the amp, and in its effects loop, to drop pedlulz. you basically arrange it just like you would on a real board, just with less velcro. oh hai elephant in the room! so what's with the dsp overload anyway? the hd can do a lot of things. there are also things it cannot do, just like every other dsp unit (even snaxfx) instead of limiting your signal path like the xt/x3/lower hd models, it lets you go crazy and try whatever you want. and when you step over its boundary, it's like woah dude i can't do that. and you just do something else. i think the boundaries are reasonable. sure i couldnt have an amp, cab, 3 overdrives, 3 delays, volume pedal, AND a reverb, but im never going to turn all 8 of those on at once. so i can just make 2 presets and spread a couple of the delays or overdrives around. easy fix. now for teh clipzorz... i made this very quickly, but i feel like they give you an idea of some of the sounds the unit can make. i only did a few that i fugred would have mass appeal, because im hungry and im about to go to IHOP. you mad, haters? also, read the descriptions of each clip for a little insight into my thoughts on each tone. http://soundcloud.com/brokenlungs/hd500-djent-test/ http://soundcloud.com/brokenlungs/hd500-clean/ This next one is for all the haters. any requests for more clips? i have a list from the dsp thread, but im going to try to add some things to it. try to request things not covered by TOM, as his hd300 clips were very thorough. the hd500 has a few features the 300 doesnt have, so ill probably try to cater more to the requests that contain those features.

HNPD, I liked the clips!
 I wonder if I could have something similar to your djent-y tone on my XT... *reaches for pedalboard* My only complaint about my POD (a complaint that will lead me to tubes, sooner or later) is that no matter how good a patch you manage to set up, after a while, it would always sound nearly lifeless. And I'd get tired and create a new patch again... This doesn't seem to be an issue with your HD, though.
