Melody in a song
Hi there! i was just mindblown på this guy: LINK and i was really impressed how hamonic and nice he made it sound when combining a little melody sling with the chords and i was wondering, How do i do this? i mean making the melody fit so good in the song? do i follow scales?
I really have no idea but this is something i really want to lern! So yeah.. if any of you guys know how this is done the best way please let me know!  |

Use you ear.
The melody he is playing sounds that "fitting" because he is emphesizing the notes in the chords that are being played, while adding notes additional notes from the key that he is playing in. I suggest you to look more deeply intro chords and what notes they are made out of if you want to do this kind of melody playing to it. But yeah, use your ear.

Melodies come from intervals, then arpeggios, and then scales. Learning what notes relate to the chords and how they sound over that chord is the key to writing good melodies. When you're learning songs analyze it and see what they did. You'll get a good ear and understand whats going on in the music.
