New Andrew Jackson Jihad
So I made a thread almost identical to this one about 2 years ago for the last release of their last album.
Knife Man just leaked...can be "borrowed" by searching for it on Google. When it releases on the 20th I recommend you "return" your "borrowed" copy and go buy one...band deserves it. Thus far I'm digging it. A LOT more electronic stuff, they're definitely shying away from acoustic more and more as time goes on. The starting track, "The Michael Jordan of Drunk Driving Played His Final Game Tonight" is the most legit acoustic track the album really winds up with. Also, Sean's lyrics keep getting more extreme as time goes on...guy's seriously starting to make me feel sad lol. Last track, "Big Bird" is ridiculously emotional.

Yeah, got it a coupe days ago.
The album makes me feel so damn bad because of the lyrics, but in a good kind of way. I've already listened to it a ton. I'm impressed that it doesn't blow, considering the relatively large shift in dynamics. "American Tune," "Sad Songs (Interlude)" and "Free Bird" are my favorite tracks at the moment. Super duper rad. I wouldn't be surprised if I end up liking it more than People. It sounds like it's going to have a lot of replay value.

I'm going to wait, and buy it when it comes out.
Love this band so much. They're one of the few bands I can listen to a whole album and not be satisfied with just that one play.

I like the cover. Is it a Basquiat painting or does it just have the crown?

"Zombie By The Cranberries By Andrew Jackson Jihad" is the best song name I've ever heard of.

It's full of great song names. I'm going to start playing "Free Bird" if anyone ever shouts "Freebird!" at a show.

That's one of my favorite songs by the band. It has (what I assume to be) a good message with really creative delivery. It's brilliant on every level.

It's good on first listen, it'll probably become a frequent passenger in my car.

Anyone else feel like "Big Bird" completely nailed them?
And I'm not talking about Sesame Street porn, before anyone says it.

My LP package arrived today.
I put on the shirt and almost came ![]() It is one of their best albums, probably their best, imo. It's so depressing, yet so incredible. I did notice two... weird things. In the digital download the People 2 song is tagged as "People II 2: Still Peoplin'", with both 2's, and in the lyrics book, The Gift of the Magi 2 is spelled "Maji". They're probably like that on purpose, I just thought it was weird ![]() |
