Modern Rock Mixtape - Week 1 - BenRaah

I'm a day late because 8tracks wouldn't upload my stuff, which is also the reason I'm presenting my mix in the form of a youtube playlist. So yeah, apologies for that.

http://www.youtube.com/playlist?list=PL4B726F612545C33A

Tracklist:

1) Incubus - Nice To Know You
2) Oceansize - Unfamiliar
3) The Pineapple Thief - Shoot First
4) Biffy Clyro - My Recovery Injection
5) Steven Wilson - Deform To Form A Star
6) Three Trapped Tigers - Cramm
7) Ween - Transdermal Celebration
8) Karnivool - Goliath
9) Amplifier - One Great Summer

I sacrificed a small amount of modern rock cred to include some stuff I think people might not have heard before, hopefully you'll all enjoy at least some of it

Upcoming Mixtapes:

Week 2 - 10/22 - Mike (Squall142)
Week 3 - 10/29 - Harry (hazzmatazz)
Week 4 - 11/5 - Kai (Uber-rocker)
Week 5 - 11/12 - Steve (steve_muse)
Week 6 - 11/19 - Will 1 (Alter-Bridge)
Week 7 - 11/26 - David (edgeyyz)
Week 8 - 12/3 - Will (slipknot5678)
Week 9 - 12/10 - Dan (Dan_5893)
Week 10 - 12/17 - Andy (badpun)
Week 11 - 12/24 - Stephen (stepco12345)
Week 12 - 12/31 - ??? (Duffman123)

Karnivool, you f**king legend! I'll definitely be including some 'Vool in my playlist.. And a good song choice too, by the way.. Nice list overall, can't wait to do mine

Those first two songs have me excited. Think I'm going to enjoy this.

Edit: I'm going to pm Zach and Collin to see if one of them could sticky this. They're both American though, so they're probably not even awake yet.

It was a glorious listen. Flowed well too, with the proggy theme. I can see what the Karnivool hype is all about now, and I didn't expect Ween to sound like that at all. Sounded more like a pop punk band to me.

Apart from Karnivool's songs, these are my favourite

He's the Porcupine Tree in case you didn't know. They have some pro stuff out there.

3 songs stuck out for me the most:

The Pineapple Thief - Shoot First
Biffy Clyro - My Recovery Injection
Three Trapped Tigers - Cramm

Especially the latter. That shit was awesome.

Their album is probably my favourite from this year so far, it's pretty incredible stuff. Seeing them live is mind-blowing.

Yeah definitely! It's not all quite that masturbatory, but it's all equally awesome.

That Ween song was quite good, Three Crammed Tigers was, err, different. Most importantly though, damn you, I was going to put Goliath on my list!

I'll be sure to rape everyone with PM's when that starts happening. Yeah, I should start uploading a couple of songs. Have no idea what I'm going to fill it with yet though...

Had a look at my page. Play counts varied between 4 and 0.
