Hey odirun, you're definitely doing something you're not telling us. The leads fit so well with the rhythms, you are definitely scooping out some frequencies! TELL !

No way! That'd completely defeat the purpose of this! The signal chain and EQ is exactly the same for the rhythms and leads besides the amps!

Man, what settings did you have on the overheads/room when you bounced them.

I slammed the hell out of the room with an 1176 and I'm loving it.

Fair enough
I just use his advice as a starting point, then go about it how I would feel it needs to be done.
You could go with Antress's plugins for just about most of the stuff he is using. (Free)
(Besides mics XD I'm using a Konami USB microphone as we speak. )

I'd suppose I'll take a swig at this and see what I come up with. Heck, I might do a mixing thread like this in the future.

Here is a rough cut for the moment being:

Awesome guide but for me the X50 and TSE 808 VST sounds terrible, not at all like yours :/

Make sure you've got the mix knob in KeFir set to 100%

Hey man I dunno if this thread is still kicking, but I've got some guitars that have are really overpowering in the lower frequencies. I'm using a special tuning that drops to C but there's still a lot of "womp" stuff that's drowning out some of the higher notes. I'm using a Dean ML with stock pups and a basswood body. I've got to use a High or Low pass filter, and the frequencies to use...?

Thanks in advance

Hey. It really depends; with out hearing it, it's impossible to suggest frequencies. I'd suggest starting your high pass at 100 then slowly moving it up until the boominess is gone. If it doesn't go away until something like 250-400, try a bell scoop in that area while keeping the HPF around 100.

Generally speaking, woof and boom resonance on guitar tracks, in my experience have been around 250-350hz.

If you still find the lows too overpowering, try a low shelf around 250hz and decrease its gain to taste.

i just want to say I was messing around on bass today and I double tracked similar to the way you said (a little different on the settings though) and i must say i got an excellent bass tone for what i was going for.

The 808 is perfect for what I had been missing
