** i grew up in the skater era of the early 90's so i saw 92-93-94 .. Nofx , lagwagon , no use for a name , blink came later to mainstream in 1997 but ive seen them at sno jam tour in 1996 , was awesome . but to me its the punk rock era or "skate punk" if you prefer .. and yes blink 182 is as "punk rock" as Nofx , no use for a name , lagwagon , penny wise etc.. same era . But thats not punk .

true punk is the anti-conformist punk band from your local scene who have been around for decade without signing to any major label . So depending where you are , the idea of "real punk band " will vary .

In Montreal ( canada ) ... RIPCORDZ is the greatest punk band , theyve been around since 1980 , have 10 albums and you probably have never heard of them if your not from the local punkscene of montreal . they are well known locally and some place in canada .

Agony and Irony is decent too, but not nearly as good as their self-titled, the hooks are sooo good on that album. I wake up every morning to "Cooking Wine" and it stays stuck in my head for at least 3 more hours after I wake up.
