The ONLY Photography Thread v2.0 - READ THE FIRST POST!
Welcome to the Photography Thread! This thread is for sharing photos that you have taken, viewing and commenting on other UGers' photos, and for discussing photographic equipment (cameras, lenses, flashguns, etc), photographic techniques and related topics. Please don't post other people's images here, we want to see what YOU can do ![]() Unlike the previous thread (which can be found here), this thread has a couple of rules which must be strictly adhered to so this thread is more pleasant to browse for all of us. *** RULES *** ALL IMAGES POSTED MUST HAVE A WIDTH OF 640 PIXELS OR LESS Any images posted that are wider than this will be removed from the thread. It is perfectly fine to post a small version of your picture in the thread (eg. 640x480 pixels or 500x333 pixels) and provide a link to the larger version of the image so if people would like to see it then they can choose to do so. Large images generally have longer loading times and can skew the width of the forum, making this thread very annoying to browse, so it is very important to post images of an acceptable size. An easy way to do this is to upload your photos to flickr and use the 'medium' sized version of the image in this thread, and provide a link to your photo's page on flickr so if people would like to view the larger versions they can do so. Another option is to resize your images with either photobucket or imageshack. NO QUOTING OF IMAGES Any images that have been quoted will be removed from your post. If you would like to comment on another UGer's picture, do not quote the image in your post. Address the person by their username and then refer to the picture (ie. "the 2nd pic you posted" or "the black & white pic of the tree") so they will know which image you're referring to, and then make your comment. *********** PLEASE NOTE - Spam and inappropriate images will not be tolerated in this thread. If you're unsure, check with a moderator before posting. - We encourage post-processing your pictures for the purpose of enhancement, but please refrain from posting images which have been Photoshopped beyond recognition. This thread is about photography, not extreme image manipulation.

I'm thinking about buying a low end DSLR one day, maybe a Nikon D60 or a Canon EOS 400D.

Well how low do DSLR prices go? From what I've seen (which is very little) they start from around 400€ and go up to like 10-15000€ or something.

Nice picture jallas, is that black and white or do I see a bluish tinge? Yes, I'm colourblind
![]() ![]() I'll finish this picture later, it's still being edited.

well, you can get it cheaper if you buy it 2nd hand, which is possible a good idea. i use a 30d and i bought it second hand, it was as good as new just a few hundred pounds cheaper. i think the 400D sells new for around £450-£500, though that may have come down now i spose due to the new 450D model... actually i have no idea. thanks yeah it's got a blue touch to it, i usually do that, partly because of my love for anything blue coloured, and partly because i get bored with flat black and white. although that's just me, if i put photos in B&W i can never seem to get it looking as dramatic as say if kensai does it :/
