the difference is that the self-indulgent honky shit of later decades is more fun to listen to. :>

best pop chart years are 66 and 67 but i like at least 64-69 pop better than the '70s. that's my preference dude. you know i'm being p.i. arguing abt this right?

post ironic
which means nothing
could mean anything
which means nothing

why don't you like '60s pop tho
it's catchy and the production is nice
four track recording, hard panning,
watered down psychedelic tropes

you should develop a taste for it
get down with nuggets & bubblegum classics
you kinda like spector already
right? compilations are good.

Here is one off of Axe to Fall
show

All We Love We Leave Behind
show

Jane Doe
show

You Fail Me
show

All four of those albums are brilliant (as are their others) but I would start with Axe to Fall or AWLWLB and then move on to Jane Doe and the others from there

Wow thanks very much. Some great stuff there. Still can't really get into Jane Doe apart from the first song, but totally loving AWLWLB just now.

All of them. Even the splits. Petitioning the Empty Sky and When Forever Comes Crashing are big ones.

Here's some of the goods.

Of Montreal?

They seem pretty cool from what has been popping up into my Spotify radio station.

Oh, I downloaded all of them a while ago. Haven't listened to them more than once or twice though.

I'M IN A CRISIS, I NEED HELP
COME ON MOOD SHIFT
SHIFT BACK TO GOOD AGAIN

hissing fauna is so fing good. i think the lyrics are really sophisticated, it perfectly captures the more anxious and paranoid side of depression. like i'm so sick of slow ass indie bands being "wahhhh i'm sad look how slow and mopey i can play"; the juxtaposition of kevin's lyrics over the really campy georgie fruit concept is so swag, ugh i love that album.

9/10 would recommend to anyone

me too, but it's just like "yes we get it yr sad," but that's only one part of depression and it's not particularly interesting after the 5000th band yanno?
