all very true. I think I limit my intake, because when I find a genre like that, I don't listen to a shit ton of different bands, but listen to three or four that really stick out to me and absorb all their goodness bit by bit.

Anyone know anything about Frank Gambale? I heard of him through some instructional videos, checked out a video or two here and there, and holy **** I'm impressed. No idea where to start looking as far as his music goes though.

Kind of a strange request, but someone want to recommend a fairly normal, colorful album that's beautiful? Maybe something akin to Portugal. The Man? I'm really in the mood for something like that but I for some reason I can't think of anything I haven't heard. Just nothing too aggressive.

Minus the Bear's Menos El Oso.

their first album is superior, imo, but this one fits your description better.

American Football might do you some good if you haven't listened yet. Never Meant is a seminal jam and a half.

Those are exactly the type of thing I'm looking for but I know them too well. I actually spent most of the day with MtB.

That was obviously a joke, but then while listening I remembered how beautiful the second half of the song is.

So it kind of worked as a suggestion

Try this, maybe? I've never actually listened to Portugal, The Man because of the dumb band name, but based on accepting American Football as a suggestion...

You should, In The Mountain In The Cloud is particularly fantastic. I like this a lot, there's a definite American Football resemblance.

However, I prefer The Thirty-Second Annual Report, limited edition version to The Second Annual Report version. It's got great additional tracks, such as this:

Throbbing Gristle - United

It was a single and not released on the original version of The Second Annual Report, though it is often added on the track listing, depending where you see it.
