Blues Junior Cabinet Build [FINISHED]

Welcome.

About 18 months ago I bought a Fender Blues Junior. Great amp, but seriously lacking in balls and low end. In comes this as a solution.

Yes, its my piece of shit Fender FM212R, with all of its terrible solidstateness...

SOLUTION? Gut the 212R, swap in a new speaker, and use it as a cab for the Blues Junior. Here is the result.

After gutting the amp section from the 212R, I mounted a top panel, simple MDF, put in 3 jacks, and a hole for the amps output cord to come in from. The way its set up, I can use either of the two speakers in the cabinet, or the stock one in the BJ, just by changing the jack.

The cab currently has a Cannabis Rex in it, and a stock Fender speaker. I'll get a 2nd new speaker later. I also made the new grille for the 212R, in order to match the Blues Junior. I was able to get matching grille cloth, which was nice.

SOUND SAMPLES!

Texas Special Stratocaster - Cannabis Rex - CLEAN

Texas Special Stratocaster - Cannabis Rex - DIRTY

I LOVE the tone. The Cannabis Rex has around 10 hours on it, and just keeps getting better as its broken in. The dirty track used a Visual Sound Open Road (FANTASTIC pedal) and somehow got downtuned in my recording process I used an SM57.

Thanks for looking, and ask away if you have any questions,

Hawk

Thanks. However, throwing it out the window is a better use for the FM's than playing them lol.
