He's saying he'd rather have no prizes and more entries than yes prizes and few entries.

Whoomit: Oh I see. I'm still not sure about that, I would rather get a corporate sponsor. We've got nine months until we need it though so there's heaps of time yet.

JCG: That's not what I meant, I'm still working on prizes - you might like to check the context of the conversation. I won't charge an entry fee, as it might turn people away.

I say no entry fee, no prices.

**** the prizes. Do it for the hell of it. The prize is the guitar you made.

^ My thought exactly. It'd be nice if there were something to give out, but prizes shouldn't be the reason to enter.

I'm up for the Unlimited Challenge.

Edit: Also, I was under the impression that the £100 build challenges were mainly to inject live into GB&C. Anything that keeps this subforum ticking over and up-to-date is worthwhile.

Put me down for 100euro (theres no euro sign on my keyboard. )

But I'm assuming thats like 150 USD amirite?

edit* I'm going to make this super awesome. Since I've got almost a year to do this. I

There is this old walnut tree (at least I think its a walnut tree.. I find walnuts under it..... and ....

IM GOING TO CUT IT DOWN....

MILL IT INTO BOARDS....

AND RETROFIT A SHED I HAVE INTO A SOLAR KILN TO DRY IT!

Free wood b*tchesss.

From the research I've done, if I set up the kiln correctly it will only take a couple months max to dry the wood to 8% MC, which should be fine.

I havent decided on anything else yet tho. Hopefully I can get a piece big enough for a 1 piece!

100€?

This is a £100 build (ie. 100 Great British Pounds, or Pounds Sterling). £ =/= €

We don't use the Euro in the United Kingdom, because we're crafty.

Yeah I see no need for prizes, unless its donated by a company, but I cant see Dimarzio giving a pickup or anything like that.

The pit uses forum prizes like having your ban/warn history wiped, but that probably doesnt apply to most people in GB&C lol

it amazes me that people who use the internet, fail to use Google for simple conversions like this.

I'm willing to give the unlimited build a shot. I can't guarantee that I'll get something finished, but I'm going to do my best.

I might try to contact some companies and see if we can get some sort of prize for first place for the two different challenges. If I remember correctly we've been doing this about three years now. If we can keep people involved, and keep this yearly we might be able to start getting some various manufacturers or other places involved with prizes.

I lol'd at simple conversions.
I just found a walnut neck blank I have, reverse headstock. I smell RG or Dinky build....I really want to do a multi-wood neck through build, natural finish. So many idea's for this thing

For prizes, if we don't get anything from a company, what about donations or something from forum members? Im aware that it'll probably fall through though...

That is another option as well. For now I'm going to wait to hear back from the mods about an idea of mine and then I'll contact some companies. If it falls through I might donate some stuff for prizes.

I did google it. =/ The google result I found lied to. It had the conversion listed backwards. And no I didn't read it wrong I went back and checked.
