Pop Punk Songs to learn
Basically, I'm asking for suggestions for pop punk songs to learn because me and some of my friends are planning on making a pop punk band. Thanks

Just start with Blink-182, their songs are really easy and really fun to. play. If, however, you don't want to be like 99% of young pop punk bands, pick another band, the genre isn't anything challenging.

The Best of Me - The Starting Line
Somewhere on Fullerton - Allister In This Diary - The Ataris All My Fault - Fenix TX The Hell Song - Sum 41 Almost - Bowling for Soup There's a good mix with some lesser known ones in there. Of course any of Green Day's older material works too.

If you're wanting some of the more modern, heavier pop punk, look up Chunk! No, Captain Chunk!, (even though I don't like them) A Day to Remember, Man Overboard, The Wonder Years, The Story So Far, New Found Glory, Four Year Strong, and so many more. If you want lighter stuff, look up Transit.

None of the pop-punk bands in this thread are even remotely close to the types of bands that we talk about on this part of the forum.

You don't really need to learn songs if you're making a band? And if you're doing covers talk to your band? It's not like pop-punk is hard and you have to study it, you just take your writing style, speed it up, palm mute the verse, AND YOU DID IT. But really, listen to Spraynard or Iron Chic or something.
Also there is a forum called Pop-Punk & Emo, why is this here? Last edited by rockfan7 : 08-18-2012 at 01:38 PM. |
