It's a mark when you're not sure where a mine could be. So you don't fuck up later in the game.

Only on the hardest difficulty or at the end of the 'medium' difficulty. If I'm playing a version that doesn't allow the double click auto-clear then I don't even waste the time marking the mine until I absolutely have to.

pointless. I turn them off because they mess up my clicking in hard-mode speed runs.


I don't know anyone so bad at that they couldn't tell instantly where the possible mines are. Those people probably don't even know about left+right click.

Maybe it comes in handy if you play some custom mode with 1000x1000 squares.
