Everybody in this thread talked about how it has a laugh track but i'm pretty sure it is a live audience based on all of the bloopers i've watched on the dvds. The actors will interact with the audience when they mess up on the bloops. And in episodes like The Contest when Kramer says "i'm out" they have to wait a reeeeeeeeally long time to say their lines because of laughter.

I wish I knew for sure but i'm pretty sure live audience it primarily what the show is. Also because those times whenever they show out of studio stuff as like a transition (like George/Jerry sitting on a dock) there is never any laughter even if what happens is funny.

I will post my most favorite episodes in a minute

yeah
I reckon the edit the laughter a bit though
either enhancing it or in some cases shortening it (I heard mention of that happening once in the DVD behind he scenes stuff)
which is fair enough, making it sound more consistent is fine, especially when they're editing scenes and stuff

(and also Larry mentioned that they had to get the audience to stop clapping when Kramer entered the apartment at some point)

Yeah, on the commentaries whenever they feature the writers of the episode they usually talk about how they have to specifically talk to the audience beforehand and tell them not to clap for Kramer.

I narrowed my list down to 25!

btw if you haven't watched Jerry's newest thing Comedians In Cars Getting Coffee you should. The episode with Michael Richards is great and I think I cried at the end.

Yea, I thought everyone knew this. Technically TBBT and other shit have live audiences too but they fix it up after, and according to someone I know who went to one, they tell them when to laugh and stuff. I doubt Seinfeld really did this. Mostly because they wouldn't have to be told when to laugh.

I've always liked Everybody Loves Raymond more, but to be fair I haven't watched nearly as much Seinfeld. Let the hateful comments begin

Yea, it is

I think early The Office and the great Simpsons seasons are the only other shows I can just watch over and over and not get sick of them

The Simpsons up until season 9 will never ever get old to me. Actually I watched the new episode last week for the first time in probably two seasons and was pleasantly surprised

Frank is one of my favourite characters on tv and he alone makes the show worth watching

I haven't watched a new episode in maybe 10 years... even reading the information about the episode I can tell it's going to suck The absolute best seasons, though (off the top of my head, between about season 4/5 and 9) were absolutely great, though. I'm not sure anything can touch them, apart from maybe seinfeld and a few other select things. But the problem is there have been way more crap simpsons seasons than good ones now. I can't even say "I love the simpsons" any more, I have to have the "seasons 4-9" caveat in there.

top 9 seinfeld episodes... i dunno. i'd need to watch it again to get it fresher in my memory. the merv griffin show one described above was good. the backwards one. the one where kramer got an intern. loads of others i'm forgetting.
