Yay
![]() Question: If you guys could have one fuzz on your board, what would it be? Looking for something kind of versatile. I have plans to build some vintage stuff to try, but looking for something cool that will cover a lot of ground. Hoof? Twosome? (on the high end of price, but if it's worth it, I'd consider), etc. Want something that will sound big, nothing tiny or thin. Need some girth...more girth than Gary Oak.

The Hoof and Twosome are pretty good (could also look at the Musket since that's part of the Twosome or the Hoof Reaper which includes the Hoof). Other good fuzzes would be the FuzzHugger Algal Bloom and Ab-Synth, Mojo Hand FX Colossus and One Bee, Red Witch Fuzz God, Walrus Audio Jupiter, Dr. Scientist Frazz Dazzler... Out of those I prefer the Algal Bloom though. My main recommendation though would be the Black Arts Toneworks Pharaoh Fuzz. I have one and really enjoy it. It gives you the option of germanium, silicon, or no diode clipping and can go from a slight OD tone to thick Gilmour leads and heavy sludge. What I like about it is that it doesn't that overly harsh sound. Don't get me wrong, it can get pretty nasty but it always keeps a syrupy sound.

Thanks for the suggestions guys, I'll def look into that Algal Bloom.
I should have said I do have a SUF Violet Rams Head already too, so that end of the muff spectrum is covered. Honestly though I don't play lead enough to get any use out of it, for rhythm it kind of gets lost in the mix too easily.
