Good Video Editing Program?

Not sure if posted in the right section.
So lately I've been doing some cheap recordings at home with my digitech. I'm doing a cover of lost woods from Zelda OoT. I've done a few covers in the past but I had a hard time syncing the audio and vid with Windows Movie maker . It doesn't really let you move the Vid or audio around precisely. Is there any good cheap maybe free video editing program? Oh I'm using windows XP.
Here is a vid of me playing and you can see how the audio and video don't match up!

Sony Vegas is amazing, it's not free though. Any 10 minute tutorial on Youtube will show you enough to get started.
