Seriously, just looking at this artwork I know I'll only like 2 or 3 of these.

It's because you listen to old person/modern mid-life crisis music.

That may be, but all of this music still sucks.

Well, I appreciate that you took the time to listen to all of this music to come to that conclusion... oh, you didn't, did you?

Take it easy, man. I just don't care for metal or the kind of hipster bullshit that's getting posted in here. I'm just being a crotchedy old-fashioned 16-year-old.

Just because you haven't heard of it doesn't make it "hipster bullshit". You might actually find something new that you will like if you weren't so closed-minded about it. But whatever, that's your prerogative.

In small doses it is. I'm not gonna lie, rocking out to some Black Keys every so often is a healthy part of my musical diet.

I liked the First Aid Kid stuff.

I don't think i've relaly listened to much of anything else this year though. I'm pumped for The Hives, Sigur Ros, MIA, and other stuff that I can't remember right now.

EDIT: like Taylor Swift

I truly didn't mean to come off as mean spirited as I have been on reflection (except maybe with the Gaslight thing, though that was mostly in jest), but I guess I'm just taken aback by how dull I find a lot of this stuff. I really don't mean to say everything in the thread is terrible, I'm only vaguely familiar with a lot of it, but what I am familiar with that's being posted is for the most part boring to me. I hate Lil B, I hate Death Grips, I don't like Silversun Pickups, Mars Volta just gets on my nerve after 1 song, I hate Odd Future, and that's just from a quick glance at the first page again. I just don't like a lot of this music. I'm sorry that I can't see what you see. And I'm sorry I spoke the way I did. But there isn't a need for everyone to get so up in arms about it.

But whatever, I'm already having a shitty night and I don't see it getting better by hanging around a place where I don't want to be nor am I wanted.

But what do you think of Heems, Kool AD, Beach House, and/or Lotus Plaza?

@brad - Yeah, the new Sigur Ros is sounding tasty.

mhmm

i can't stand when someone confuses 'good music' w/ 'hipster bullshit'

actually i can't stand anyone that uses 'hipster' to describe anything because it just make them sound like a mindless cracked fanboy.

People are only on your case because you said you hadn't heard most of the stuff posted then next post you dismissed it all w/ a lazy buzzword. You are wanted. :-)

I agree with Pagan_Poetry when he said that people who label music as hipster are lame and it's just like when people would label stuff as "Emo" and "scene" with a negative connotation.

I mean, I haven't listened to any of the stuff in this thread (Screaming Females was good I remember), but that doesn't mean it's not good.
