Thrash metal song (original)

Hi, I'd like to know what you think about my original song. It's a thrash metal song, I recorded guitars and made bass and drums using TuxGuitar.

Here it is :

Tell me what you think !

And post your song back, I'll comment !

tsoun-net,
Metallica told me to tell you to clean your room (but fits in with the thrash vibe) Your guitar playing is pretty tight, I like most of the guitar riffs. Some good vocals could improve things. Good you double-tracked the guitar. Please review my music at this link:

I really liked it man! Great playing, really awesome riffs! How did you get such a good drum sound with just tuxguitar? haha I was pretty impressed by how they sounded!

Thanks for the feedback. This is a cool song, nice collection of riffs and really tight playing throughout. I like the tempo changes, i think they work well. I know thrash is generally just played on the lowest two strings, but maybe you could try being a bit more adventurous, and using some higher pitched notes, or harmonising in your riffs. Overall though, this is a really good song, reminds me of Testament or Kreator

Very nice work here, man! The playing is tight as can be and you handle those tempo changes very well. The mix sounds great too (although whenever you do a final version, I'd bring the bass up in the mix). But yeah, cool stuff from start to finish!

Check mine out? http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/foru...d.php?t=1537872

That is some tight stuff. I am not a fan of metal, but I like the changes in tempo. Plus to me it's pretty diverse, complex. I like the fingerwork on some of those riffs, kind of nice to see and I might try to emulate. I've been playing about 6 months and it's stuff like this that sort of gets me going thinking of new things to do. It is good stuff.

Thanks for checking out mine and the tips!

Thanks everyone for your comments !

@awesomo41894 : I really don't know how I made it sound so good ! The track with just Tuxguitar's drum and bass is not so good, maybe with guitar in it, it sounds better ! I also think I double tracked drum's track.

@crushingmetal : Thanks for the advice of trying some higher pitches, I'll definitely try it in my future songs. I'm glad it reminds me of Kreator and Testament, as I was mainly inspired by Kreator !

@ARom22 : Thanks for the bass advice ! I will maybe re-record it properly and mix it better.

@Killsocket : Thanks a lot ! Nice to see it inspires someone ! Keep playing

I really dig it! Some years ago i listened lot of trash metal stuff, and megadeth is still tough. Your playing was tight, good picking hand. With some vocal add, this definetly would be killer trashmetal song. Songwriting was good, like the song continues goodly when you change riffs etc.

Btw. Thanks for critic to my song !

First off, I DIG THE METALLICA POSTER!

The second riff is ****ing killer dude. I love it. The part at 1:01 is awesome as well. I'd add a little reverb on the drums, but aside from that , I like the mix as well. That main riff (at least that's all I can think to call it lol.) is so awesome. Very catchy. I'd love to hear some vocals on it as well. Breakdown at 2:04 was very old school, note selection and everything. Fit very well. I thought there could've been more after the ending solo, but that's just my opinion. Overall, great job! Sent ya a request on Youtube as well!

the tempo changes are badass man, and I really liked the fast riff closer to the beginning, definitely a very solid structure. Now we just need some vocals on it! Thanks for the crit by the way

Thanks for the crit!

This brings back a lot of memories haha. It's thrashy as f*** and the riff at 0:40 is pretty killer and probably the highlight for me. I also have to commend you on the actual sound of the song considering your fairly limited set up.

Have a couple of things I would critic on (and most of it is just my opinion so feel free to disagree lol)

- although I do feel that the tempo changes add a nice dimension to the song I think it was slightly over used in this one song. (others seemed to like it though so I may be wrong)
-I do think thrash needs vocals to really carry it. As interesting and varied as you did make the riffs, I really think vocals would bring the track out and make it more memorable.
- Playing sounded very tight except for a few sections where it might be worth just rehashing and making sure they are nailed

Overall pretty impressive though. I hope you manage to keep this going and get a solid song finished!

@Poisonouspot : Thanks ! I recorded the sound from the amp (a Vox VT20+), plugged into the line-in of my computer. Drums and bass are from Tuxguitar.

@Tuubezzz, thetoastinator : Thanks for the comment ! I know it would be better with vocals, but I can't sing at all.

@James_Het_Rules : Thank you for the subscription on Youtube !

@vkuz001 : I appreciate the comment, and that you tried to tell everything you thought that was ok/not ok. Honestly, I didn't make tempo changes on purpose ! I had some fast riffs and some slower riffs, so I had to change the tempo. For the vocals, I really can't sing
And yeah, in some sections I was not perfectly in time (I think you mean the riff after the chorus ?). Anyway, thank you for your advices !
