MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 format?
Hi, sorry for asking so many questions here.
Im thinking about getting a zoom q2hd that records hd in MPEG-4 AVC/H.264 format. Is this the same as mp4? I have heard that you cant open mpeg-4 in movie maker/ WMP, but i can open mp4 files in both. Will i run into problems? Thanks

I think opening MPEG-4 files in Movie Maker is just a matter of having correct codecs (k-lite codec pack, for example).
That's all that is required to open them in Windows Media Player.

MP4 is not a video format it's a container, just like .avi. Video files can be coded as MPEG-4, h.263, h.264, AVC1, AVC-HD or even Matroska and "archived" as .mp4 files. WMP doesn't support anyof the earlier so you'll need another editor.
