I was going to tell you to try getting your rank past 45 and then rolling TS, because pretty much everyone past a 45 has good sportsmanship. Not that there's much bad sportsmanship in between 20 and 45, it's just that people above 45 generally have mics and will say "Good game" after every game.


And then I saw this.


Mute everyone in Big Team, Rumble Pit, Multi-team and Social Slayer. Pretty much all the Social Playlists except for Team Mythic and Skirmish, which have a way higher rate of players above 50. Usually about half of the people you come up against are decent to good and have played for a while.

If you don't want to get trash talked in Ranked, then stay away from Team Doubles, (Pretty much the CoD playlist of Halo; Full of campers, trash talkers, nade spammers, rocket*****s etc etc) MLG below level 40 (So much smack talk) and Team SWAT on any level (Because that's where most bad 50s get their 50s from)


Now, there's your problem right there. There's not a single weapon I can think of that would take more than a whole clip to kill someone when used properly. That means no trying to spray someone from across the map with your AR, no trying to use your shotgun as a sniper (It isn't CoD or Halo 1, it only works in close range) and don't try using your sniper as a super powered BR unless you're actually good with it.

And as to the zooming out thing; If you're using a BR against someone, you shouldn't be zooming in unless they're actually a very far distance away. You just have to lead them right, and they won't stand a chance. If you're sniping and someone descopes you from a medium distance, you're at a disadvantage. The best thing to do is get around a corner and either; wait a few seconds for their grenade to come around the corner, then pop out and headshot them out of the blast radius as they throw the second one, or if you've run around the corner of a large wall and you can get around the other side; either fake to the right and pop back out on the side you came in and shoot the guy in the back (Giving you the advantage of having shield even if you miss the headshot), or go around the obstacle and take another shot at him.
Now I wouldn't do any of these things most of the time, because when I play Halo I play with friends so I can call these things out. I'd just back away from the corner, lay some nades down on it and scope head height on where they should run out. If they don't run out and I got some backup then I'll let my team-mate made the entrance while I get around ready for the push. (Great thing about Halo, there's always a way to get from A to B on all the main choke points) If they run for my team-mate, they run into the made. If they wait too long, then I either de-shield them and they run straight for my team-mate, or they get cleaned up by me. (Assuming I miss the headshot because their back is turned)

Halo's all about Teamwork, knowing the maps and consistent aiming. CoD is about which routes you take, reflexes, and precise aiming. They both take skill and it's difficult to say one is objectively harder, but imo Halo is a much more balanced game in which skill is a higher factor than it is in CoD.

I've never played an online shooter with a bunch've of random people. I've played online across a LAN network in my computer maintenance class at school. Halo has brought the most pleasure to all of us. Get together a group of people that you know and are considered actual gamers and most of them will favor Halo over COD. I know this is completely biased and sometimes probably not true but this is just an opinion.

Also, Halo's single player aspect has pleased me more than any other rival FPS.

Looks promising I've always liked the Halo franchise, the only ones I've never liked were
Halo: ODST and Halo: Reach. The only thing to do know is buy a Xbox 360 again.

But yeah, I realize if you use the weapons correctly you won't have to spam bullets and then butt people. Back when I played a lot (Halo 3) though situations like I mentioned happened to me, where me and another guy would both try and kill each other with the AR and then butt each other when we ran out of ammo, or I'd be trying to shoot (zoomed) someone with the BR and some other guy would come and f_ck me up mid-zoom. Maybe it was because i sucked at shooters back then, but after 3 I played a little of Reach when my friend brought it over couple times and it didn't really appeal to me. Guess it was just personal opinion


And yeah, with the community thing I did end up muting people or just turn it off when I joined big games. The community didn't really turn me off to the game, because it was just some of the people playing it that sucked not the game itself.

And agreed, comparing the games saying which one requires more 'skill' is kind of dumb because they're very different approaches to the shooter genre.

I guess it really comes down to, I don't think the game sucks by any means but it just isn't my type of shooter

I thought 3 should've probably been the last game, and Reach definitely should have been the last game. I've been very unimpressed with literally every contribution 343i has made to the series: gamewise, storywise, everything. Not got high hopes for this, but I might buy it if it looks good after release.

Also, I shouldn't worry about this... but on the comments for one of the trailers, I saw the following:

"Man, this looks like a ripoff of Metroid."
"How? Halo has been around longer than Metroid."
