That compass rose inlay is the sickest thing I've ever seen. I can't wait to see this build finished.

Personally I've always preferred the more minimalistic knobs unadorned with pearloid or the like. I typically find them garish, and they tend to cheapen a guitar for me. Thus far this build has been phenomenal and I'd love to see it with something that I find classier such as wooden or plain nickel knobs. Nevertheless I'm loving what you've done and can't wait for completion!

Wow that's a nice inlay! REALLY like the look of it!

I agree with the plain chrome knobs, they tend to look somewhat better on most guitars I find. I didn't even realise they were pearl topped ones in that picture though until I read Don't Panic OK?'s post

Actually, a specially made knob shaped like a capstan would be awesome. Maybe one without the levers in place, though.

I do have a lathe but no idea how to use it and its probably older then I am.

Regarding the vol/tone knobs, I'm not really worried about them right now. The guy who I'm building this for chose those so that's what I'm going to put on there for now. They are easily swapped out if he decides to go with a wooden or plain chrome option down the road.

In hind site I should have done both inlays at once but I jumped the gun cause I was excited about the rose






Opened up the top of the truss cavity


I'm going to make the truss cover out of walnut and inlay my raven into it. Still havnt decided on a shape though.

Nice. I think I would have left the 'N' off personally, I like the minimalist look. Still, doesn't make much difference and it's very nicely inlaid. The raven is a nice idea too, but personally I'd be worried about cluttering the headstock up too much. Whatever floats your (or, at least, your client's) boat though.

Edit: I've looked at the pictures again and changed my mind. That headstock is big enough for anything. Slap that bitch on, I say.
