Sad. A matching headstock Daphne Blue strat has always been a huge GAS of mine. I'm definitely sold on the Legacies and Comanches. Looks like I'll be sending G&L and email.

What happened to the Tribute G&L S-500? Musician's Friend doesn't carry it anymore?
Also, what do you guys think of the Tribute Series Comanche? How is the quality compared to the non-tribute one? |

the tribute series in general is of a very high quality for what you pay for them.

I've played many Tribute series I would put on part with MIJ Fenders. The Comanches are especially awesome.
Also, kytokinesis, I went to my local G&L place (October Guitars in Wausau Wisconsin) and played my first Comanche. I'm completely sold on the MFD Z-coils. I'd take one over a Legacy. As many folks here know, I'm a total Strat slut, so I'm pretty picky about them. Rarely do they really, really impress me, and that USA Comanche did. I think I'm going to pick up a Tribute Comanche as a backup to my ASAT Special Deluxe. Then I'll use that extra cash I was gonna use on the USA model to buy a motorcylce ![]()

There's a new "Black Ice" finish available now, for a limited time. Gawd, I wish I had the money and I was in the US to get these

I pulled money out of an ATM to go buy a Tribute Legacy that was on craigslist for $250, but on the ride back to my apartment my water pump broke. Grrr.

No worries, I've got some cash put away. Next friday there's a certain Butterscotch Blonde ASAT Classic I've been eyeing up I just might have to pull the trigger on

Nevermind, bought an expensive camera instead. The classic will have to wait. Although, I did take the opportunity to use that camera to snap new photos of my Tribute: ![]() ![]() ![]()

Just bought a Bluesboy Tribute in White. Exclusive color to only a couple dealers. I'm pretty excited. Should be here by Jan 2nd.

I'm kind of wanting a Comanche myself, but I have a lot of pre-comitted fun funds to go through first, like paying for the custom I'm having built.
And while I'm not a fan of Teles in general, I have to say this: if I win the lottery anytime soon, I'm buying this G&L Johnny Garcia prototype ASAT. http://www.martinmusicguitar.com/pr...76388&pid=76189

That's the one I bought. Apparently that color of white is hard to find on the tributes. I'm pretty stoked. Don't worry, I'll take more/better pictures of it once it arrives. This would be my 3rd tribute if I didn't buy the camera that snapped the photos of my other ASAT above.

that's sweet. would look better with a black guard imo but very nice specs.
![]() there's a used asat tribute in my local shop for $350 but the neck is twisted. swamp ash body with the see through orange finish. looks awesome. bummer about the neck though. |

I haven't decided what pickguard I'll throw on it, yet. I might just stick with the Tortoise. I'm excited to see how that Gagon pickup sounds. I have a secret evil plan to swap that humbucker for a Burstbucker.

a bb1 would be good there. but if you want something really wide open a yangbrane from skatterbrane would be sweet.
that walnut asat tribute on the bay with $285 bid is tempting. |

This might turn into the "Greg and Jake talk about stuff they want" thread.
