Idk, but I'm very interested to find out. Either way going used, so it really doesn't matter, but from what I've read they arent quite the same, so I feel like it would worth to keep them both on the lineup.

Thats soposed to be very Plexi-ish. I have seen a few selling for <$500 used, what did you snag your for? And I e-mailed Krank last week about the diffrences in the Chadwick series 2 and the 1980. They assured me that they are completely diff amps, and the 1980 is deff geared more towards hard-rock/metal,while the Chadwick is more of an "all-round" amp that works well up to a classic/hard-rock style (like a plexi)

I got it for right at 500. Yeah, I've always wanted a JMP style amp that I could boost the heck out of to shred on. Pretty excited

I used to own a Krank Rev Jr Pro, and the one thing that was a real turn off was the sound of the cleans. I don't know how to describe it.... its just dry... and uninspiring. It always needed a chorus to sound decent.
However, the gain channels can cut through the mix effortlessly. Used to play it with my friends who had Blackstars and H&Ks of higher wattages (usually 50 watts or so). Sure they could get louder, but my Krank stood heads above them in the mix. I always felt that the semi-parametric EQ helped me dial my mids to where it would be prominent in the mix.

^^ nice dude! Hopefully you'll be able to pick it up!
^ yeah, cleans on the rev jr are pretty much garbage, I prefer the 6505 for cleans the cutting thing is definitely true. Using the sweep knob I can push through pretty much any mix

Yep, taking my Bugera and a few guitars to the pawn shop later, $599 for a 1980 is insane, and I cant afford to pass it up, because all the others I have seen are $800+ Being broke sucks sometimes. ![]()

It sucks pretty much always. I have seen some for 500, but most the time you are right, they run up of 700. That's still a great deal though, and I did the same thing for my Chadwick, grabbed a couple guitars and some pedals and away I went

^thanks ippon!
^^as much as I love my rev jr., I think the only that's gonna get you that classic lamb of god grind is a mark IV or V. I've pulled something similar out, but I'm not comfortable saying that it can pull lamb of god. Their tone has a very distinct sound, bouncy, almost like a supercharged country tone
