Thank you -- that was a very interesting read, and what I hoped would appear in this discussion. ![]()

Glad it was of any help! I had quite a few links to articles like this (on different guitar-related topics) but unfortunately my hard drive broke and didn't manage to salvage them ![]() |

I use 24.75" scale for Drop C#, I believe Seether have used 24.5" for Drop C# and I know Paramore use 24" scale for Drop C.
Anything will work fine if you have it set up right.

Also interesting: In Flames have used 24.75" for drop A#, Baroness have used the same for drop G and Sunn O))), while I don't know what they tune to, have been known to use standard Les Pauls.

To be fair though, Sunn O))) aren't exactly known for their pristine clarity or crisp tones ![]()

Dimebag used 24.75 scale guitars only. Anywhere from .25 step down , all the way to 2.25 steps down. Not that that matters, but hey. What I find interesting in "my personal opinion", is that the clarity on the higher register of 27" inch scale seems to suffer comparred to a 24.75 or 25.5. But the lower end is does sound better.
