International Great Gig In The Sky Influenced Piano Rock Song

Howdy! Here's a lo-fi tune I recorded in my room, influenced by Floyd's Great Gig In The Sky and Money . I hope you dig it and I look forward to hearing thoughts!

the drumming kind of ruins it i think, if you made them more rock like instead of hiphop/pop style it would be much more suitable to the style of music and sound much better. i really liked it though, probably one of the best songs ive seen in this section yet, im a huge pink floyd fan too and im enthusiastic for anyone who makes that style of music, so this was sick. good job man

Pretty good, I listened all the way thru. I like the how it changes pace into the money influenced part and then again for the ending, but like jd said, the drums could be a bit more of the style. I too am a huge Floyd fan so anything Floyd influenced always catches my ears. Good work, make more.

Drifting "slow floyd like"

The chords are great, and the beat that comes in is not the one I expected, but in a good way. I really dig the song overall - your voice is the only thing I think you could improve though. Rather than trying to hold the long note just before the first "it amazes me", maybe turn it into a couple of different notes as you hold that long syllable? You're very close to it being fine in that respect, it's just occasional notes that you don't quite hit. Frankly it might just be that another vocal recording would turn out fine, that can happen with small differences really easily.

The section starting at 2:36 was brilliant, honestly. I loved it. It's only a shame that the track then ended quite abruptly - it should be longer I think! Perhaps you plan for it to be. I'd look forward to hearing it if you did expand on the current version, anyway.

Thanks for the comments everyone! I do agree, the drum part is a little odd! Thanks a lot for the tips though, I certainly will take them into consideration

Thank you for your honesty, I do agree, the drums are a bit off! They were just some cheesy hip hop kit I pulled up on my keyboard xD I'll check out your tune!

I like the fact the drums are a bit different. We need to be experimenting with different types of music. The norm needs to be challenged or we'll never progress.

Some of vocals remind me of John Lennon.

I like the fact you played multiple instruments. It all sounds very good. And very Floyd-like in the middle. I'm not 100% sure the Floyd park connects as well as it should, but it can be done, perhaps it's just me.

I actually think they could be two different songs. And be brilliant.

+1. I loved certain parts of it.
