Electronic EP, looking for feedback (free downloads)

Hi there,

I've recently started a new project with some friends based around us writing and releasing a new EP every week. We're all fairly new to the electronic side of things so it's going to be great fun listening to our work improve over time.

It's all very tongue in cheek, we don't take ourselves too seriously so neither should you

My track on the EP is "The Third Drop Is What Counts", and the other three were contributed by a couple of my friends and members of a band I play in.

Here's our bandcamp page:

The Last Bastion

A dwarf might hear you. What then?

Listened to Level Up! it was a decent song. Video game-like for sure, reminds of Sonic maybe. I thought the main melody was a bit too fast for me though, but that's more personal preference than anything. It was structured well imo. I'd give it a 7/10

The Third Drop (..):
Writing's nice, very chill. Mix is perhaps a bit bassy, somewhat hard to tell because on the one hand I'm on good monitor earphones but on the other hand on a very crappy soundcard atm.

At 0:34 or so pretty much all your synths sound like they're in the same-ish register, things get pretty messy - I'd try to EQ them to give eachother room in the mix. The panning helps, but isn't really enough as it is. Kick feels like it only "kinda" cuts through, maybe beefen it up with another sample and EQ them to fit together, also, are you using and sidechain compression? Doesn't sound like it, though of course if it's done well it shouldn't really :P

The synths are all great in and off themselves, the filter and panning automations really make stuff come alive. Out of interest, are you using presets or doing them completely from scratch? If you are, great job!

If you feel like it, take a listen (and vote! ): http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/foru...d.php?t=1556928
