Whos Your Favorite Lyricist?

I have a bunch of bands that I can just put in an album and listen the whole way through and love every song. Naturally I love the lyrics, however, it seems some just have lyrics that touch on a deeper level or have affected my style more than others.
When I think about it right now my favorite lyricist would have to be Pete Leoffler of CheVelle. So who are yours? Just list their name, band and an example if you care to do so.

No particular favorites. Shane Macgowan comes to mind.

Hmmmm, maybe Isaac Brock from Modest Mouse, at least his early stuff. I like Conor Oberst's stuff a lot too.

Tomas Kalnoky from Streetlight is one of my faves for sure.

Adam Duritz of Counting Crows. The man's a storyteller. I don't know how America saw the band in their prime, but I can imagine them having been the 90's alt rock equivalent of Nickelback in terms of being successful but loathed for no real reason, so Adam's genius may be a little bit buried now.

"I step out the front door like a ghost into the fog where no-one notices the contrast of white on white"

In no particular order:

Neil Peart
Arlo Guthrie
Bob Dylan
John Lennon
Jimi Hendrix
Gordon Lightfoot
James Taylor
Warren Zevon
Bruce Springsteen

Have I mentioned that I have a soft-spot for lighter shades of rock and folk singer-songwriters when it comes to lyrics?
