Greg from the Dillinger Escape Plan writes wonderful slightly abstract but yet concrete aggressive and slinky lyrics

I'm not sure who wrote the lyrics to Queen's A Night At The Opera (Freddie?) but they are awesomely cheesy

Josh Homme in QOTSA and Them Crooked Vultures, vicious poetry

Tom Waits, Mark Lanegan, Leonard Cohen, Nick Cave, PJ Harvey, Chris Cornell, Layne Staley (his AIC songs were always the best imo), Seasick Steve, Son House, and Josh Homme.

Honestly I don't really pay attention to lyrics that often, it's the least important part of a song to me and unless the lyrics are just godawful then it's fine.

That said, I can appreciate good writing and I think Alex Turner is a brilliant lyricist
