I approve of this thread. I need a place to post things about my current love of Oceansize other than the Muse thread.

Never really gotten into Soundgarden, but I'd like to. Any recommendations?

There's always the Oceansize thread, but that's crazy thought!

I'd suggest the Superunknown album. The album before (Badmotorfinger) and after (Down on the Upside) are class too.

Love the Pickups. They be hella sweet. Singer's voice has gotten better with each record. Check out Three Seed.

I recently got Of Monsters and Men's album. Stuff is sweeet.

All Very good choices. The new silversun Pickups album is really an album that grows on you. You really have to listen to the songs a lot to get it.
Of Monsters and Men's album is a beautiful album with no bad songs

I never realised such a thread existed, lol.

Thanks. I'm liking a lot.

On a side note, isn't Chris Cornell the guy that wrote the theme for Casino Royale?

Of course you are, it's Soundgarden! Here's the trailer for the new album, by the way. I don't know about you, but I almost wet my pants over this.

And sure is.

I don't really know why I've never gotten into this band, but I'm going to do so now for sure. At least, once I've digested Mogwai, GY!BE and Sigur Ros. Which may take a while...

I love the way that new song comes off as ambient yet melodic at the same time. It's time I gave this band the justice it deserves.

All the British Theatre stuff released so far has been excellent. Definitely lessened the post-oceansize void.

I never give myself the chance to fully digest artists anymore. There's just sooo much stuff out there waiting for me to listen to it! Makes it hard for bands to enter top 5, despite me not even listening to that top 5 on the regular. Oh well, at least I never get bored of stuff anymore.

Thank you for pointing out this band, I'm liking what I'm hearing.

And having started listening to Oceansize a month or so ago, I can finally agree that they're pretty good now that I've finally gotten around to listening to them.

A while back, when at one of their concerts, they joked that they were going to change their site name to citizenerased.com so it's not like they don't know a lot of people prefer the old stuff...

The Terror is the Flaming Lips right? I think I liked it quite alright.

I've started to adopt a more slutty approach to listening to music. Instead of giving a handful of albums several careful listens before deciding if it will stick with me or not, I'll now just randomly click on stuff on Spotify and follow my impulses. I'll listen to a lot of albums and only recall some of their names.

Been listening to Stornoway a lot though, regularly even. Tales From Terra Firma is an excellent album.

Yup. And gd. That's the kinda thing your slutty approach wouldn't benefit from.

But yeah. I think I do something similar. I listened to a Savages song and the bass line was ripped straight from a Joy division tune. I don't get that stuff, if I wanna listen to JD-like stuff, I'll just listen to JD. But meh, spose there's some ground for sampling shit or watev.

I've been giving two albums regular spins since about January. John Mayer's Continuum and Glenn Gould playing Bach's Goldberg variations. Both are the greatest thing ever.
