Your ideas for improving Reviews section

Fellow UGers,

We're planning to revise and improve the Reviews section of the site and would like to know your opinion on the subject.

What would you personally change or maybe add to Reviews?

Leave your comments and suggestions here in this thread.

For me, three important things that would improve the reviews section significantly:

- A higher quality control.
- Get rid of the subsections in reviews. Make it all just one section and let the user have a bit more creative freedom in writing the reviews. Also, that would mean just one overall score, which I think is better. (Also, you should add .5s to scores.)
- Increase the minimum character requirement. I think it's too low.

We seriously need a section for recording & studio equipment. Considering how many threads there are about that sort of kit, it's amazing you've ignored previous requests for it.

Precisely all this.

I did this over a year ago. I submitted some reviews to a user called "JustLikeMe" who agreed to put them in an appropriate category. Instead of creating a category for Studio Equipment as had been agreed, he simply put them in a generic 'Accessories' category that is not accessible from the main reviews page.

Here are links to the reviews I have already submitted:
http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/revi...mkii/index.html
http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/revi...w16g/index.html
http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/revi...f-80/index.html
http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/revi...-323/index.html

If the Studio Equipment section is not created and made easily accessible, people won't know that they can submit reviews of their DAW related equipment.

As I said before, with the amount of repeat threads asking about this sort of equipment in the Recordings forum, it's amazing UG has spent so long ignoring requests for Studio Equipment to be added to the reviews section - I know for a fact that other people have requested it on several occasions as well.

I'd like to see some of these issues addressed, if not all of them: http://www.ultimate-guitar.com/foru...d.php?t=1543010

Not too sure where to put this, but I guess it kind of applies to the review section. It would be amazing if it happened though.
